How much can a SC notary public charge for performing notarial acts?
- Acknowledgments - $5 per signature
- Oaths or affirmations without a signature - $5 per person
- Jurats - $5 per signature
- Signature witnessing - $5 per signature
- Verification of fact - $5 per certificate
A notary public may charge a travel fee when travelling to perform a notarial act if: (1) the notary and the person requesting the notarial act agree upon the travel fee in advance of the travel; (2) the notary explains to the person requesting the notarial act that the travel fee is separate from the notarial fee.
